About The Blue Tulip
The Blue Tulip is a St. Augustine wedding florist founded in 2023 by owner and designer Madelyn Price, who started in floral design in San Diego seven years ago before moving here. The team is at the Lightner Museum and Treasury on the Plaza most weekends, and also works Fountain of Youth, River House and Hammock Beach Resort. Weddings start at $3,000, and the studio books couples with budgets from there to past $20,000.
The studio's stated aim is to keep costs down: flowers are repurposed wherever the design allows, and the floral team moves arrangements from ceremony to reception itself, at no extra charge. Many couples don't realize the rentals come from the same place - candles, candelabras, chandeliers, columns and occasionally drapery. For Paige and Quinn's May 2026 wedding at the Lightner Museum (the bride is a former Miss Pennsylvania), the team turned the room into a pink and white ceremony shortly before the vows: a full floral arch, 7 large and 12 small arrangements, and greenery climbing the arms of the chandeliers.

Questions couples ask
What do wedding flowers typically cost?
Designs start at $3,000. Every wedding is custom, so the studio gives a free quote once it knows what you need.
How far ahead should we book a florist?
Most couples book about a year out, with the occasional last-minute booking. The calendar fills quickly, so sooner is better.
Who moves the flowers from the ceremony to the reception - the florist or our coordinator?
The Blue Tulip's floral team does the flip, and there is no extra charge for it.
Do you only do flowers?
No. The studio also rents candles, candelabras, chandeliers, pillars and columns, and occasionally drapery, and keeps adding to that inventory.
