St. Augustine hotels and rehearsal dinner spaces
A good number of St. Augustine weddings are really weekends rather than single days. Guests arrive the night before, stay on afterwards, and spend the time in between in a town that is genuinely worth spending time in.
The winter months are the strongest case for that. Nights of Lights runs from late November into January and turns the historic district into something guests will remember independently of the wedding - which is a real argument for encouraging them to stay an extra night, and a real reason to warn them about traffic and parking.
The food is the part out-of-town couples consistently underestimate. St. Augustine has far more good restaurants than a town this size suggests, which makes rehearsal dinners and welcome parties easier to place than couples expect.

Is it worth asking guests to stay the whole weekend?
Many couples here do. Guests commonly arrive the night before and stay on afterwards, and the historic district gives them something to do without the couple having to organise it.
What is the best time of year for guests visiting St. Augustine?
Nights of Lights, from late November into January, is the strongest draw for guests staying beyond the wedding itself. It also brings heavier traffic and tighter parking downtown.
